“Perfect place to stay in Rovinj”
We loved our stay at Residence Vaal. We came with our 4‑month‑old baby and the staff were amazing with him – so friendly and accommodating. I especially appreciated the women who cleaned the rooms (we didn’t catch their names) and Jelena, who even came early on our last night to say goodbye. They’re the friendliest hotel staff we’ve ever had! The hotel is impeccably clean, and the rooms are spacious with everything you need. There’s no drink‑making facility, but the coffee machine downstairs works fine in the mornings, so that wasn’t an issue. With only a few rooms, it was quiet and the pool area was often empty. Breakfast was delicious – fresh and varied each morning, plus free fruit, snacks, and water all day. We liked the location: a 20‑minute walk into the old town, longer if you take the coastal path. The hotel is a 5‑minute walk to the nearest beach and the coastal path – it’s very peaceful and the views are lovely; the water is crystal clear! The staff also have a trusted taxi driver, Gigi, who’s available for lifts anytime. We used him a few times and would recommend him; he also took us to and from the airport. We can’t wait to come back next year. The only downside was that there weren’t many eateries nearby – that mattered mainly because we were traveling with a baby who went to bed early. There’s a great coffee shop, Figment, about a 10‑minute walk away, which we’d definitely recommend. The property itself was a 10/10 for us.
