“Beach Front Stay”
I was able to use the wi‑fi fairly well. The air‑conditioning unit worked nicely, and the hot and cold shower was good. It felt like a vacation out of town rather than a remote spot, except the view when you wake up is a white sand beach. The staff were all friendly and could help with tours at reasonable rates. The food was okay, typical. The sunset views were good. I would still recommend staying here but lower your expectations; they’ll be met. Would I stay again? Probably yes, it was still a good overall experience. I would have given it a 9 because the beach location and proximity to most restaurants are great, but we were told we can’t swim in the sea or must swim at our own risk because of jellyfish that sting. I know electricity can be scarce on the island, but a TV (with Netflix) would be a good addition to the room so you can relax after tours and keep up with other resorts and BnBs. We also got locked out of our room (our fault) on Day 1, and unfortunately, with all the spare keys they have in a box for all the rooms, ours didn’t have any, so the crew had to force open the knob with all the tactics they’ve used before. That was stressful and tiring for both staff and guests. I just hope it won’t happen to other tourists. We were advised not to leave our stuff outside because thieves might be around. One foreign guest had a minor mishap with her fingernail getting injured at 11:30 PM and sadly, there weren’t any crew around (they only work until dinner time—probably before 10 PM). There were emergency contact numbers in the room but they honestly didn’t respond, so it’s better if you have your own vehicle to go around Port Barton.
