The staff are great, and the location is good. The power went out a few times, but that’s typical of the island; in another stay on the south side it also went out abruptly.

The hotel staff were exceptional, remembering us and asking about my scuba dives each time; the rooms had cold air conditioning, a fan, and hot water; breakfast featured fruit, breads, pancakes, various hot dishes, and made‑to‑order eggs, and the staff recalled my previous orders; on my first diving day, I was scheduled to leave 30 minutes before breakfast, so they prepared a box of eggs with toast, fruit, and coffee/tea for me to take; the beach was a short walk away, making this the best hotel choice overall.

We left after two nights instead of three and weren’t very impressed; the room was decent and the staff welcoming; the pool is actually in another hotel several kilometres away, so you need a taxi to get there; the sea view really matched the photos—a small triangle in the distance—and the balcony of our “sea view with balcony” room was part of the restaurant passage, so you couldn’t enjoy it without people passing by; the hotel sits on the busiest street in Kwenda, and at night the traffic and honking are deafening, with exhaust fumes adding to the noise, while the neighbourhood generator 20 m away also creates a terrible buzz when it runs; the beach 300 m away is reachable through a dirty little alley.
