“Non ci ritornerei”

The place looks pretty, the common areas are big and well equipped, and the pool is very nice. The owner was not welcoming at all, and check‑in had to be done by a certain time, which wasn’t respected as written on Booking. We booked a room with a private bathroom, which luckily was in the room, but there were only two sheets, no blanket, and the bathroom heater didn’t work; we had to pay for towels even though that wasn’t listed on Booking. The room had a fan but no remote. I tried to message the owner and got no reply. Unfortunately, there were drunken guests making a lot of noise and it could be heard everywhere. The environment was very noisy and everything outside could be heard.

I spent a full nine nights at this hostel. Before booking, I checked all the details and policies and found nothing that prohibited alcohol; in fact, I saw photos on Google Maps of people enjoying wine with dinner or by the pool during the day. However, I was shocked to find my bottle of white wine missing from the kitchen fridge and to see a sign stating that alcohol consumption was banned and that anyone caught drinking would be immediately evicted. I later discovered that Michael, the manager, was the one who had taken the wine. Michael acts like a controlling police officer; he might bring out his aggressive dog—which terrified me twice—or demand you move your sleeping spot whenever it suits him. He did this to me once just to make room for another person or group, without even a word of thanks for my cooperation. You might also wake up to find there is no water in the hostel; if you message him on WhatsApp, he won’t even bother to reply or let you know he’s on his way to fix the issue. Michael will even message you on WhatsApp asking for a review of the property before your stay has actually ended. I once left a container of cheese in the kitchen—outside of my designated fridge box—and it disappeared; I discovered he is liable to throw away your personal items without even asking if they belong to you. In short, this manager does whatever makes *him* comfortable, without any regard for you.

The environment was very beautiful and calm, magnificent, with a pool too. The only thing that could be improved would be more plants and trees. Overall, very pretty and well done!
