We were allowed to store a backpack while we were in Melak and picked it up when we left. We chose this place because we wanted to stay near the port to catch a boat to Melak the next day, but the location isn’t great and there are no restaurants nearby. When we arrived, the receptionist made it hard for my partner and me to sleep because we didn’t have a marriage certificate, and no one warned us that we needed it… we finally managed to stay. The air conditioning didn’t work and it was extremely hot. When we returned from Melak to collect our luggage, we asked if we could have a shower and they refused.
