Walking up or driving in, you immediately sense this place is special. My room was roomy, supremely cozy, and tastefully arranged. The grand bathroom really stood out. The whole property, once a sea captain’s home, has been restored with great care. Breakfasts were superbly tasty, plentiful, and many dishes were homemade. Hosts Alain and Pasquale were incredibly warm and helpful, making me feel right at home. I freely used the lovely patio and front living areas, and drinks and snacks were offered on an honour system. I enjoyed petting and chatting with the two charming dogs. The location is just minutes from the train and bus stations, and walking to Quimper’s old town is easy. Those arriving by car have on‑site parking. This property is as good as it gets!

The concept featuring a fictional Captain Lala Saul was great, and the room furnishings were also excellent.
