It was a wonderful surprise… I wanted to stay in Montelupo to revisit the amazing ceramic museum and was delighted to be right next to it, in a residential area. At Sweet Emily, the décor is very pleasant, breakfast is hearty and varied—savory, sweet, with delicious homemade cakes, etc.—and the owner is charming. It’s definitely the place I’ll return to. Montelupo is off the usual tourist routes, with art and craft everywhere, on a street, at a corner, in a lane… it’s very pleasant.

A very pleasant place, good train access to Florence, perfect for a couple of nights, and the air‑conditioning is excellent.

I was impressed by the eco‑friendly vibe, though I wished there were more options like room‑level recycling and greener breakfast packaging. The lactose‑free milk and gluten‑free items were a nice touch. The house looked well decorated and the garden was pleasant. The self‑serve breakfast worked fine. Montelupo felt like a very friendly village. The only downside was that the bread could have been fresher and there was a bit less fruit and vegetables.
