The lodge is extremely well maintained, organized, quiet and pleasant—perfect for resting. The room was very clean, with impeccable bed and bath linens and new pillows. The staff were attentive and helpful. Though breakfast was temporarily unavailable for health reasons, on one day the owner, D. Josy, provided a delicious homemade breakfast, all fresh and of high quality. The lodge is a bit far from the city center, about 5 minutes by car on a dirt road, but that does not make the stay unfeasible.

Vila da Mata Chalés exceeded my family’s (including a 6‑year‑old child) expectations. The location and facilities are excellent, and we even had the privilege of exploring the ‘mata’ behind the lodge, which was marvelous. Reception and the way we were treated were also excellent. When we return to Alto Paraiso, we already have a place to stay. I liked everything at the lodge and the treatment we received. On the tour, we were in the dry season peak, so the outings were a bit difficult. We found some closed sites, dry waterfalls, and burnt areas. It’s definitely a climate issue, but the place is not bad at all.
