The kitchen was great; all the tools were there and it was a huge help. The second floor was hot, and when I turned on the AC it became cold. It would have been nice to have a thin towel‑like blanket on the futon.

I went there with my daughter, and the parking for the rental car was convenient, the yard and house were larger than expected, making it a very comfortable and excellent facility. We felt the atmosphere of a local Japanese home while enjoying delicious meals we cooked ourselves, making the time even more special. I highly recommend it as a family vacation spot.

We had a great stay and the staff were friendly. We rented e‑bikes, which was awesome. The only downside is that it’s quite far from town, so remember to rent a bike if you don’t drive.

It was an excellent opportunity to stay in a traditional Japanese house and appreciate the architectural details. The area is very quiet and convenient for exploring the Shimabara peninsula. Takeo‑San, the owner, is attentive and kind.

“A traditional Japanese house that warrants more than a 1 night stay”

We had the whole house to ourselves. The property was a very traditional Japanese house with ocean views, and our host was very accommodating. The only minor issue was locating the property.
