The breakfast spread was generous and varied, but the dining room was so crowded that we couldn’t find a seat for a couple plus a baby chair, and we had to wait until a table cleared, with the buffet line also jammed. My husband asked the hotel manager about separate pool hours for men and women, because most guests were religious and that was a key need during the hot August month in Tiberias when temperatures hit 40+ °C. The manager—quite a tall guy—replied, “There are no separate hours and there won’t be.” We were disappointed that a place with such a largely religious clientele would refuse that request. My husband and I vacation in Tiberias for a few days each year; this stay was pleasant, but next year we’ll factor the manager’s response into our choice of accommodation.
