“Etablissement bien situé, chambre efficace et espaces à vivre design et complets”
The Hyatt hotel sits right in Zhongshan Park’s tourist area, so getting around Shanghai’s downtown is a breeze. The front desk staff speak decent English and are used to western guests, but their cultural biases show up: they tend to be warmer and more attentive with Asian clients, which can feel off for western travelers accustomed to a different service style in Europe. Rooms are standard size, compact but fully equipped, making it a practical choice for a 3‑4 day business trip or a solo stay under a week; families, however, might find it unsuitable. The second‑floor lounges, café, and gym are excellent, and the hotel regularly hosts events—given my 20‑year background in Communications and Marketing and running my own consultancy (MAVRIIK), I’d suggest organizing meet‑ups for creative, cultural, and tech professionals, especially between Chinese startups and expatriate or visiting experts; these gatherings add value and encourage repeat visits. The downside is the café closes at 21:00, which can be inconvenient if you arrive late from the airport and the hotel offers no room service; you might need to check with the nearby Hyatt Centric, just 10 m away, to see if they can help.
