Bongan Safari Lodge

The room was superb, but there was no signage from the main road to the lodge.

The apartment we got was correct, very large and comfortable for resting after a safari in Kruger. We booked dinner and it is totally recommended because it is very good, abundant and everything tasty. The included breakfast was very correct, varied and all good. We had a hard time finding the apartment complex because we lost mobile coverage. It would be good to have a sign or some signage on the main road since it is located in a residential area with difficult access from that road.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and were blown away by the genuine warmth and outstanding service at Bongan Safari Lodge. The sunset game drive was well‑worth it, where we saw a pride of lions being chased off by a herd of elephants. Our guide Frank was incredibly experienced and had a great sense of humour that everyone loved. Dinner at the lodge was special, especially dining beside the bonfire. To our surprise, the lodge had prepared complimentary honeymoon decorations and a bottle of red wine for us—a touching gesture. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, and the service was thoughtful and attentive. We had an early 5:30 a.m. departure for Kruger National Park the next morning, and they kindly packed a breakfast box ready for us in advance. The road in is a bit bumpy, but nothing to worry about.
