Paola was available for everything and a genuinely hospitable host. The apartment had an authentic, classic layout and a family‑like atmosphere. The room’s location was great; the promenade was actually on the opposite street, and there were restaurants and cafés right under and around the building – a superb area. The city beach and the harbor were both a pleasant 10‑15 minute walk away. The Italian breakfast was very generous, and Paola’s coffee and cappuccino made the mornings special. The room was a suitable size, the bed was comfortable and large, and the two balconies added a nice vibe to the stay. I always had a private terrace. The only downside was that the third floor is high in a building without an elevator, which might be a problem for someone with mobility issues.

The place is close to Salerno station and the ferry ports, and Paola was an exceptional host! The only drawback is that the property sits on the 4th floor with no elevator.

“Perfect”

Paola turned out to be an absolutely wonderful person, and I was thrilled to meet someone like her. She offered countless great recommendations that helped us discover beautiful, less touristy spots along the Amalfi Coast that differ from the usual towns everyone visits, making our days truly memorable. Her homemade cappuccino each morning was amazing! She was warm, kind, approachable, and always ready to help whenever we needed something. She even let us keep our luggage at the property for an extra day, which was incredibly helpful. The location was fantastic – close to the sea, the city centre, and the train station, making everything very convenient. The room was clean and was cleaned daily. Despite the summer heat, the room stayed pleasantly cool and comfortable. Everything about our stay was wonderful. If I ever visit Salerno again, I would definitely choose to stay at Paola’s place again. Highly recommended!

The location was fine. However, there was no air conditioning even though it was listed, and it was unbearably hot at night, making sleep difficult. The breakfasts did not match the photos in the listing – instead of fresh items, they were packaged cookies full of preservatives and very dry toast bread. The plastic cutlery looked like it had been used many times. The soap and shampoo in the bathroom were heavily diluted with water. The owner was nice, but her presence during the entire breakfast was awkward and reduced privacy. I specifically chose this place for the breakfasts and air conditioning, but neither expectation was met. Additionally, the hallway had a strong smell of mothballs and feces. Our review does not concern whether the owner is a nice person or whether the place is a pension or a hotel. We chose based on the information in the listing – especially the air conditioning and the photos and description of the breakfast. On arrival, there was no air conditioning, even though it was advertised, and it was very hot at night. The breakfast also differed significantly from what was shown in the photos. These are concrete issues that affected our stay. We did not expect a hotel or additional amenities – we just expected what was presented in the listing. Our review is a description of the actual experience and is not intended to insult the owner or question positive reviews from other guests. After such a high rating, I expected much more. I would not choose this place again.

The host grandma was a very kind and friendly person, and she was especially warm on the first day; the room only had a fan, which worried me, but it was cool at night! The facilities inside were tidy and clean, very traditional Italian style, and beautiful. Whenever we needed something, we could ask Granie and she could usually accommodate us – thank you very much! The host grandma helped us tidy the house every day, made cappuccino, and even folded our clothes for us! She was truly a meticulous and kind person, found my lost earrings, and when I left, I had dropped my contact lens solution under the bed, she told me about it and hung a basket with a string for me – I was very touched. All in all, we had a warm and pleasant time, a golden memory!
