It’s a quiet oasis, and watching the water lilies from the terrace slows you down a lot. Walking 25 minutes gets you to the Water Palace Taman Uyung, which is much prettier and, most importantly, quieter than Tirta Gangga. Communication is tough – the owner sent a standard message offering trekking tours, but after specific questions he stopped replying.

The rooms are comfortable, the staff are great, breakfast was excellent, the shower was good, the location isn’t too far from the beach, and I highly recommend it.

The room is very spacious, with a huge, very comfortable bed, a TV, a private bathroom, and it’s very clean. Breakfast is plentiful and made on the spot. But the best part is the service—a truly exceptional treatment, the manager is charming, always smiling, ready to please the guest. On the second night she filled the room with flowers, which I loved. It’s a family business that I fully recommend.

The place offers great value for money, the welcome was friendly and they communicated well through WhatsApp, which was handy for translations. The garden is quiet, and the breakfast is simple, fresh and made on site. However, you can’t book a taxi via Grab, which is essential in Indonesia – you’ll need a vehicle on site or have the hotel call a driver for you.
