The hotel sits right in front of the beach, but the room was in need of a refresh and the bathroom had a very unpleasant pipe smell.

“We couldn’t stay there.”

The hotel was overbooked, so we had to find another place; the staff kindly informed us of an alternative hotel and we went there instead, but they still blamed us for having no room even though we had a booking and confirmation.

“Short break from a city centre based hotel, and couldn't have asked for a better setting.”

Family rooms offered a lot of space for the price and were well equipped with reasonably comfortable beds; being right on the beach was a bonus, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The Wi‑Fi in the room was spotty, though the connection outside, especially in the restaurant, was more stable.

Access to the beach and the security guards who prevent children from entering without an adult were impeccable, but I didn’t appreciate that room service stopped after 1 p.m.; the servers and their managers need serious improvement. The restaurant was inedible and I suffered two food‑borne illnesses in 10 days. The room finishes were sloppy, with what looked like unprofessional masonry work, the saltwater tap was clogged, there was no barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so water leaked everywhere; the sink was poorly fixed to the counter and the water drained incorrectly, and there was no lighting in the toilet—overall it was deplorable. The private beach was not maintained, which was disgusting.
