The host and his wife were wonderful and generous. Though the place is a small hotel/airbnb, it fit our group of three couples perfectly. Richard offered great local tips, and the swimming pool was stunning. The town itself was quiet, so you needed a car to explore other lovely towns in the Dordogne; there was only one restaurant in town and another about a 10‑minute walk, but that wasn’t a real drawback.

The room and bathroom were beautifully presented and the bed was especially comfortable. The accommodation had been lovingly restored, and the air conditioning was a relief in the hot weather. The house and grounds were stunning and relaxing. Hosts Robert and Vero were very welcoming and helpful. The local caves were amazing and worth visiting, and Rouffignac itself is charming with great little eateries. We would definitely recommend this as a lovely base for exploring the Dordogne. Thanks to Robert and Vero!
