“Perfectly serviceable "business hotel"-level place to lay your head. Ideal location.”
On Ishigaki Island, in the port area, a few hotels match the standard business hotel you’d find elsewhere in Japan without booking into Toyoko Inn across the bay. This one isn’t bad: friendly staff, a prime spot for the island’s best food and shopping, and easy ferry access. You get your own bath (rare in the area) and the set breakfast (not a buffet) is passable. However, like a couple of the other hotels at this level, it’s clearly a converted ex‑apartment building with slightly odd architecture: huge clanking steel doors for each “room” and a cramped elevator. Not the end of the world.
