The garden view and surrounding scenery were stunning, the breakfast spread offered great variety, the staff were very attentive, and both the bar and the lounge provided pleasant spots, though the shower cabin felt dated and its door was hard to close.

The hotel’s spot right next to Hill Top and throughout the Lake District, plus its majestic feel, the restaurant views, the peace that pervades the place, the good treatment and friendliness made it ideal. The only drawback was that the bed felt a bit narrow.

Location good and views lovely. Only one member of staff doing everything: check‑in, breakfast, cleaning. The room was not cleaned properly; clothes left in drawers and dirty tissues. The shower over bath was not suitable for elderly people to use. I thought it was overpriced for what you get. It’s a large hotel but one member of staff to look after everyone. Poor lad didn’t live up to our expectations as we have stayed in Sawrey many times.

The place sits in a perfect spot with stunning lake views that make it the most relaxing stay I’ve had, and it’s close to other amenities. I only wish they had real ales on tap, but that’s a minor gripe since there’s a pub just a few minutes away.
