This place is very quiet compared to Jiufen; there’s no traffic noise from the road next to the water tunnel, making it perfect for experiencing a calm natural environment. The bathroom drain needs to be cleared by the host once or twice a month to avoid a feeling of water buildup.

The host family is very warm and welcoming, making it feel like staying at a friend’s house. Breakfast is prepared by the host themselves—soy milk, coffee, and health tea are all homemade, thoughtful and tasty. The location is within walking distance of Jiufen Old Street and the Golden Museum, and the owner can arrange pick‑ups if needed. The owner’s daughter is also friendly, chatting like family without any awkwardness that might come from staying away. The hot water heater could be stronger; a better shower would be more comfortable.
