The restaurant serves traditional British and European cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, with a secluded walled garden and central location near Shrewsbury, Ludlow, and Church Stretton.

The food was excellent, the staff very friendly, and the hotel room was fantastic.

The rooms were beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable, the fan in the room was quiet, breakfast was excellent, the staff were friendly, and everything was very clean.

Lovely room. Great beer garden. Friendly staff. Great choice for breakfast. The location on the main road was not for us. Despite the secondary glazing in the room, the noise from the main road led to 3 nights of dreadful sleep. The Gaskell can’t change its location and maybe providing ear plugs for guests might be a good idea. We’ve stayed in every B&B in MW - we love the village, the pubs, the cafes etc but unfortunately this stay wasn’t one of our favourites

Ample parking. Traditional interior decor. Good menu. My fault as I should have paid more attention to the menu but I have ordered vegetarian breakfasts in many establishments and it's quite unusual for them not to come with a slice of toast. I didn't make the same mistake on my 2nd morning and made sure I asked for one
