The farmhouse tucked in the woods was truly peaceful. The road to get there isn’t great and could use some maintenance; we were lucky to have a high‑roofed car. I suggest fixing the potholes that have appeared over time.

Masseria del Bosco Palazzone in Chianciano Terme offers an elegant farm‑stay setting with a lush garden and a year‑round outdoor pool. Rooms include private bathrooms, kitchens, and views of the garden or mountains, plus work desks, flat‑screen TVs, and complimentary toiletries.

The place arrived damp and not very clean, with a pool that couldn't be used because it was dirty and neglected. The outdoor lighting was practically nonexistent, making it hard to drive up to the house. The breakfast was awful, with moldy preserves and stale food.

The rustic setting among the woods had a nice outdoor area, except for the poorly maintained pool zone. The breakfast was decent, though you had to drive to a nearby other facility. The apartment itself was dirty and full of insects and spiders, with cobwebs and dead bugs on the interior window sills. We kept everything closed because the few screens had big holes. One room had a lot of mold and the apartment was very humid. In the double room there was a stain on the bed when we arrived. The pool was dirty and murky when we got there; we reported it the first day and were told they'd address it, but the next afternoon it was still the same. The insects were impressive, so I understand it might be partly our fault and that rural areas can have live animals, but having dirt, mold, and cobwebs is not acceptable. We decided to leave a day early because we couldn't sleep after finding a scorpion and a huge spider in the rooms, plus crickets, moths, and grasshoppers that we kept inside. We told the owners everything politely when we left; they apologized but didn't even offer a complimentary breakfast.
