“Hébergement original, super accueil”
The welcome was superb, the location is great, close to the water and the cycling trail. Nothing else.

Cap Orne, nestled in Amayé‑sur‑Orne, offers spacious family rooms with private baths, kitchenettes, balconies, dining tables, refrigerators, microwaves, and wardrobes. The on‑site restaurant serves lunch, high tea, and cocktails amid a family‑friendly terrace, bar, and picnic area. Live music, bicycle parking, and proximity to Caen–Carpiquet Airport, Michel d’Ornano Stadium, and Juno Beach enhance its appeal.

The unusual character of the accommodation, its proximity to nature, and the calm atmosphere were appealing. The net over the living room was a hit with the kids. On the downside, the central bathtub has water everywhere, so a shower is far more practical after sports when the whole family needs to wash. The beds (no mattresses) are risky for children climbing to the second level, and the heavy hatch could catch fingers.

The quirky aspect was nice. The steep ladder in one of the rooms was a problem.

The natural surroundings and quiet atmosphere were great, and the concept was original even though it had some limitations for a group of 7. The staff even offered a table to iron. I’d recommend it for a short stop, but it was impossible to use the bathtub because there was no reverse‑flow for hot or cold water, so the water stayed cold and there was only one roll of toilet paper for 7 people!

The space was well optimized, with plenty of light points, enough sleeping spots, and a window with a view. The bedding was not thick enough, and the steep, risky stairs made it hard to carry luggage; a system for lifting bags would help.
