The welcome drink, a Japanese sake, tasted great. The toilet seat, lid, and floor were all dirty with excrement, showing a lack of manners. The common area floors were dusty and full of trash, and the bins were overflowing, which was very unpleasant. The place had no vibe of everyday life like the photos suggest. It was disappointing.

If you’re only looking to sleep, it’s fine. I was often confused by the placement of the light switches.

The room felt super cozy, and the décor was stylish; plus, the hotel is close to Lake Biwa and offers bike rentals, which I liked. The only downside was that I couldn’t find a power outlet near the bed—maybe that was just my perception.

I stopped there for a quick night after a long bike ride around the lake; I was exhausted but the place was just right. The house was charming, the communication and check‑in were easy and friendly—thanks!
