The friendly mother made me feel calm. I saw the toilet, bath, and washroom were shared, so I checked in after visiting a nearby hot spring, and the baths seemed gender‑separated. When it was sunny, the view of Mt. Fuji from straight ahead was huge. The room had air‑conditioning, a TV, a fridge, a microwave, and a kettle shared in the hallway. The futon and pillow were traditional, heavy, which is good if you like that.

The view from the window was very good. The only downside was that there were no places nearby to eat.

The host was very friendly. It’s a lovely escape from the bustle; best to arrange pick‑up and drop‑off with the host beforehand because the bus stop is quite a distance, though the town is beautiful to walk around if you don’t mind. Plan to bring some noodles or easy food to prepare yourself, as there’s no restaurant nearby and the accommodation doesn’t really have a kitchen.
