Shima Beach Hotel

I played table tennis with my grandson at the hot spring hotel, so that wish came true. The summer night market had archery and ring‑throwing games, which made for a fun evening. When we went to Ise Grand Shrine the next day, the staff kindly pointed out a nearby parking lot if we left early, and we entered it without a long wait and were able to pray. The room had an ocean view and the sea scenery was amazing.

Dinner and breakfast were both tasty and beautifully presented. The navigation system was well designed, so I never got lost. The staff were smiling a lot. The only downside was a crack in the window glass, but I understand that the hotel keeps costs down and probably hosts groups and school trips, so I accepted it.

A truly lovely old‑school hotel right on the beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and took great care of me. The weather wasn’t ideal, so I couldn’t spend much time at the beach, but everything else was charming. I’ll definitely return.

The room was spacious and beautiful, with a Japanese style layout, tea sets, and a fridge. The ocean view was spectacular, especially at sunrise, and the beach was right at the hotel’s doorstep. For a quiet seaside escape, this is the spot. The hotel also offers a sento, a restaurant that requires a reservation, a karaoke room, arcades, and a small convenience store. A bus stop is nearby for trips to Toba or a train station, and the hotel provides a shuttle. The staff are very nice. The only drawback is the limited food choices; the restaurant serves only Kaiseki, which is excellent but a bit much for every meal. The convenience store’s options are also limited, and there are no other konbini in town, so the best bet is to visit restaurants in Osatsu, though you need to check that they’re open first.
