Ovolo Canberra, a Wyndham Hotel

“Absolute disaster. Do not stay here.”

There’s nothing redeeming about this place; it’s hardly a hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything fell apart: the basement parking was jammed, and the Sanctum Suite we paid the most for ended up on the second floor with a wall staring back at us. The website promised sweeping lake views, but the reality is a concrete jungle; the “hotel” occupies only two floors of a 15‑story building. The décor is cheap and bleak, the lighting is dim, corridors are grimy, and the furniture is awful. The staff seemed clueless about the facilities.

The bed was very comfortable, but there was no free parking, the rates felt overpriced, the place was a little noisy, and the restaurant food was lousy.

Holding bar tables for hours kills the vibe; walking into a busy bar only to find the best seats marked "reserved" for two hours is the most disappointing thing, and bar seating should really be first‑come, first‑served.
