The location and the view are good. There is no ventilation or air conditioning, so it gets too hot, and the property’s customer care is poor.

The hotel sits in a very quiet, green setting that feels calm and relaxing. The rooms are modern, well kept, and exceptionally clean, and the breakfasts were top quality—comparable to high‑standard hotels—with generous, varied options like omelets with eggs and avocado, fresh fruit, and good tea, changing each day over my five‑night stay. The room itself was spotless, matching the cleanliness you’d expect from a five‑star property. Dinner each evening was also excellent, thoughtfully chosen and prepared by the host. Mercy and Nur stood out for their professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness, making the stay truly outstanding; Mercy’s care and dedication, along with Nur’s warmth and daily smiles, created a welcoming and comfortable environment. The beach is about a 10‑minute walk from the hotel. I sincerely thank the entire Miska Zanzibar team for making my stay memorable, and from day one I felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for. The only downside was the firm bed, and a backup Wi‑Fi system would help digital nomads during power outages.

The accommodation is very modern and clean, run by a family who are very quiet, attentive, and extremely polite. There is a generous breakfast, including fruit and coffee. Although it is not directly on the water, but just around the corner there is a cave with turtles, the Stone Village Restaurant (amazing food), and the Promised Land Lodge (a nice place to hang out with an ocean view) or shanka lodge for nice ice coffee. You get offered lots of tours on the main beach in kizimkazi , (in our eyes dolphin tour is not that ethical but our snorkel trip was good :)) The accommodation is perfect for people who are looking for a quiet, modern place to stay with good service and who want to explore quiet hidden places around. If you don’t like too soft matress it’s the perfect place

The stay at Miska lasted 11 days; the first five were quite comfortable and the staff were always available and helpful. The host kindly let us check in early on arrival day and arranged an airport transfer. Breakfast was served at a time that suited us, which we appreciated and made planning our day easier. For the first few days, dinner was tasty and reasonably priced, and the service was good. We also used the laundry service and the first batch was priced fairly. Unfortunately some clothes faded to the point of being unwearable, but we still appreciated the services. Rooms were cleaned daily, and room service was excellent. The last six days were difficult because of frequent power outages—though not the owners’ fault—yet nothing was done to fix it; it was dark and hot, and some nights we had to stay outside in the dark because we couldn’t keep the doors open to let air in without mosquito nets, which many nearby accommodations provide. The place could also consider chargeable lanterns for the darkness. Every day we had to endure this. Food quality dropped sharply while prices rose unreasonably. We asked for a seafood salad one night and were charged 135,000 Tanzanian shillings; the salad was dry, lacked dressing, and the seafood was barely seasoned and nearly impossible to eat. After speaking with the owner, the price was lowered to 105,000 shillings, still high compared to local restaurants that charge 25,000–30,000 per person. To avoid conflict we paid. Breakfast did not meet our dietary expectations at all, only after repeated communication did it improve. Future guests might skip the breakfast option and go to nearby cafés and restaurants. The internet café and Stone Garden Restaurant offer good menus, food, and reasonable prices. We also used the laundry service again and were billed 65,000 shillings; the owner explained that she had to send our laundry to town because she lacked a dryer, but we were present when it was returned. We saw that not only our laundry was delivered but also a whole batch of towels and sheets.

Everything was excellent: a beautiful room with lovely décor, a pleasant outdoor space, a very quiet environment, and wonderful welcome. The breakfast was the best in Zanzibar! Nothing to complain about.
