Great view, spacious bungalows with nice furnishings, very friendly staff, good food at the restaurant, but the wind was very loud and breakfast could be better.

We stayed at this hotel for a month in Costa Rica and it quickly became one of our favorites. The bedding was luxurious, with pillows that were a mix of soft and firm, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable – a welcome change after several stays on hard mattresses and thin pillows. The towels were thick and soft. Jose upgraded us to a room with floor‑to‑ceiling windows that offered a stunning view of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. We enjoyed the shaded terrace and comfortable chairs both inside the room and on the terrace. There is no air conditioning, but that wasn’t an issue; the ceiling fan kept the air moving and Monteverde’s cooler climate made it unnecessary. The restaurant food was delicious, among the best we’ve had in Costa Rica – the pizza was cooked in a wood‑burning oven and the beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection. Jose was always available to answer questions or give recommendations. We would definitely stay here again.
