“Не раджу!”

The place had zero communication with the accommodation! I barely found it and it took a long time to figure out where everything was. I’m grateful to the girl at the shop who called her uncle to get us checked in… The property seems to be run by three different companies with a bunch of other names, yet the photos are all the same! The room… the wardrobe is broken, the sheets are dirty, there’s no nightstand, the toilet’s flush doesn’t work, the shower water is dirty and smells accordingly… The room door doesn’t lock. The sink is so low you have to jump to use it… Street noise flies straight into the room and vice versa.

The room was decent, but the pool water was dirty and the breakfast was just basic and mediocre.

The staff were very responsive and friendly (Juni), but the location near Mount Batur offered few dining options and the lodging was not functional.

“LA PEOR EXPERIENCIA QUE TUVIMOS EN INDONESIA”

Nothing good. Everything was filthy, full of bugs, the towels were dirty, and I don’t even think they’ll change the sheets because there were hair on them when we arrived. There was a used toothbrush that they didn’t even bother to throw away. Breakfast was awful: raw pancakes and inedible scrambled eggs. That’s all about the accommodation. But there’s more to tell: there’s a local mafia that forces tourists to hire the hotel’s guides for the Mount Batur excursion. We had booked a private guide for the trip, so the day before we told the hotel we wouldn’t go with them but with our private guide who would later drive us to a new area of the island where we were staying. On the day of the excursion, a man on a motorcycle appeared in front of us and threatened our guide to leave. We didn’t give him credit. That motorcycle rider took us to another spot where a woman (probably from his gang) ended up being our guide for Mount Batur (it was either comply or don’t do the trip, so we had to go through the hassle). We were forced to hike from the very bottom instead of taking a car to the halfway camp (the views were horrible, not worth starting the route from the bottom at all) and then, of course, we had to pay another guy separately to take us to the new destination where we were going to stay (the guy was the mafia himself). IN SUMMARY: BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE AND WITH THE LOCAL MAFIAS THAT FORCE YOU TO TAKE THEIR GUIDES FOR MOUNT BATUR.
