They let us use the parking lot shortly before check‑in, which made getting to Miyazumi easy and comfortable. The downside was the short bathing time and the fact that only a shower was available in the morning, which was disappointing.

The bathroom turned out to be more comfortable than I expected, but the toilet in the room was cramped and the step up to the floor made it awkward to use.

The projector was handy and I could watch Netflix, which was great. The sofa was old, the seat was dented, and it wasn’t comfortable to sit on.

Seeing the sunrise bounce off the sea from the window was wonderful, and I liked that the hybrid Japanese‑Western room let me pick either a bed or futon; the raised tatami area was gentle on my tired legs after sightseeing. Having a convenience store attached to the hotel was handy for anyone who prefers to eat and drink on site, and the short walk from the station helped keep the price low. On the downside, the power outlets were poorly placed, making it a hassle to charge my phone and charger since there was none near the pillow, which I use as an alarm. The surrounding area lacked restaurants, so dining out was difficult, and walking from the station at night was unsettling because the street was very dark, with few lights and a curving road backed by a retaining wall that reduced visibility.

The best part is the view straight across to Miyajima, and the onsen is wonderful. The staff were very helpful. The building layout is odd, so some rooms can’t be reached by elevator.
