“Nice beachfront location but too many downsides to ever want to return”

The location on the beach and close to George airport was great, but the tiny rooms left no space for our cases. We only stayed one night because we had a morning flight, so a larger suite wasn’t worth the extra cost. Our room was damp and lacked an extractor fan, so after showering the room steamed up even more. There was no light switch in the bathroom; it was sensor‑controlled, meaning if you went to the bathroom at night the light stayed on for another 10/15 minutes. Rules about what you can’t do everywhere you look felt a bit oppressive. No private parking was available as we had been led to believe; instead we were asked to park outside the property. When asked to leave the room keys in the public area where anyone could take them, there was never anyone at reception to make this feel safe, so we kept them with us when we went out. We couldn’t access the roof terrace without climbing over items left on the stairs. Finally, we had to leave early before breakfast but were not offered anything to take with us—something that was routinely offered at all the other SA accommodation on our trip where we had an early start.
