The kitchen facilities are good and the outdoor seating area is nice. It’s close to everything in town, and they help you organize your boat to and from Tortuguero. Dorm rooms were very small and hard to move around. Lockers were right next to two dorm beds, so it was difficult to use a locker without waking four people. All dorm rooms also had a double bed in addition to bunk beds. Sometimes the reception was empty, so you had to wait a while for service.

The hostel sits close to the center and has everything you need for a brief stay in Tortuguero, plus helpful tour suggestions; we were fortunate to snag a shared room for ourselves. However, the place feels overcrowded—what’s advertised as a four‑person room simply doesn’t fit that many people.

Marina was super welcoming and kind—she made us feel right at home. The dorms were clean, in a great spot, and the rates were really good. Plus she had cheap activities on hand. I’d definitely recommend it.

The room was dark and cramped—couldn’t fit six beds, no space for luggage. The toilets were uncomfortable, the kitchen barely had any gear, and it wasn’t very clean. Overall, not a pleasant stay.

The staff were friendly and the place is in a great spot. But I found hair in the shower, which was a bit off‑putting.
