Monte dos Velhos

I spent a lovely one‑night stay with my girlfriend. The place feels cozy and rustic, especially with the hand‑painted furniture. It’s very peaceful and secluded, so we could see a lot of stars at night and even catch a glimpse of the Milky Way. Our peace was slightly disturbed by a stray cat while we were cooking outside; it wasn’t the host’s fault, cats can wander in, but this one was very persistent in begging for food (we didn’t feed it). Future guests might want to avoid feeding it as well.

“Best house in Alentejo!”

The house was gorgeous and super cozy, the location was spot‑on, and everything we needed was close by. We only stayed one night, but it was a fantastic experience that let us feel what it’s like to stay in a typical Alentejano house, and we’ll definitely return!

The host was friendly and flexible with timing, and the house’s location is convenient, though the access road is in poor condition. The price felt a bit high for what was offered, especially since it wasn’t peak season, and we found a dead fly in a window that had been there for a while, indicating the cleaning could have been better.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The experience was truly wonderful, and I felt right at home. Although I didn't get to explore much of the surrounding area, the hotel itself made up for it with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend it.
