“I would have enjoyed my stay if it hadn’t been for the chemical smell in the room.”

The room had a strong sweet chemical odor that caused a headache, scratchy throat, and burning eyes; opening the window and turning on the heat didn’t clear it. I left the next day feeling quite ill and had to keep my luggage outside for a few days before I could bring it inside because the smell had spread everywhere. I’m not sure whether it was cleaning supplies, an air freshener, scented laundry detergent, or all of the above, but with 30% of people having MCS, the staff might want to reduce the intensity of these scents.

The location, breakfast, and room were all good, but the internet didn’t work well.

“Overall great.”

The location was great and the 24‑hour check‑in saved me when I had a flat tyre and arrived later than planned; the bed was very comfortable after a long drive. A washing machine and dryer were also available. However, the restaurants closed by 9 pm, so when I arrived after that I had to survive on an apple and some nuts I had on hand; a vending machine for snacks would have been nice.
