An old building in Passau’s old town was restored with sensitivity and taste – very stylish! The spa was gorgeous, the pool small but brightened by daylight, everything smelled like pine, there were two small saunas and a beautifully tiled steam bath, and the recliners blended in seamlessly. It’s a tiny, high‑class hotel with a fine wellness area. The rooms were well insulated, and the breakfast was superb. The downside is that the hotel is in a pedestrian zone and can’t be reached by car; several public underground garages are nearby, but you have to pay two daily rates if you stay overnight, which comes to almost 20 €.

The location was ideal, right in the city centre, and the renovated old‑town hotel included a wellness area. The bed was comfortable, the staff friendly, and the in‑hotel restaurant served great cocktails. However, there was no light or door in the shower, kitchen smells drifted through the hallway and sometimes into the room, the toilet was very small and cramped, and there was no heating or thermostat to control the room temperature.
