The mid‑century mansion was lovely; we booked the Garden Room, which was very clean, had a comfortable bed, and good A/C for the hot summer day. An outdoor gazebo and garden area were available to enjoy. The ground‑floor kitchen was open 24/7 with coffee, tea, and snacks, which was a nice perk. Check‑in was easy with an access code. Breakfast was provided with vouchers at two establishments across the street from the mansion. The mansion sits next to a main street, so there is some minor traffic noise, but it didn’t disturb our sleep. The bathroom could use routine maintenance: the soap dispenser was loose and didn’t dispense soap, and the fan needed lubrication and was noisy. I tried the Nautical Bowl for breakfast, but it wasn’t our style; no coffee was offered and it served a large bowl of sorbet with fruit and granola, more of an afternoon snack or dessert spot. There is a full flight of stairs to reach the rooms with luggage, so keep that in mind when booking. Adding a couple of area rugs around the bed would be a nice touch.

The place looks stunning, and the guests around were quiet and polite. Parking was right in front and easy to use. The furnishings were well preserved and the architectural details were interesting. We only met the host once, when our key didn’t open the front door the second night. Another couple had the same problem and the owner met both of us at the door to let us in. There’s no breakfast on site; instead we get coupons for a meal at one of two mall restaurants across the road, but one opens later than we’re used to, so it’s basically one choice. We couldn’t find the coupons first morning, so we texted the owners. While looking for them in the room, we found a fair amount of dust and some debris under the bed, which we mentioned to the owner. The coupons ended up in the door jamb of an adjacent room, which we spotted when we went downstairs again. That evening the area under the bed was cleaner but still not entirely tidy. The historic tub is great, but stepping over the edge is a challenge and the wrap‑around curtain gives nothing to hold onto, so the shower feels like being an astronaut. Turning on the shower before stepping in is also a puzzle. My wife still wonders how to do that and how to use the soap tray in the tiny shower envelope—extra credit if you solve it.

The Mansion is absolutely gorgeous! I love the restored woodwork and the fact that the original light switches were kept. The only downside is the breakfast vouchers. While I appreciate the creative approach, I would have preferred having breakfast served onsite; even a continental breakfast would have been nice.

The house is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. It felt more like a shared Airbnb than a bed and breakfast. We only stayed one night, arriving late at night, so maybe a longer stay would reveal actual people. The room code didn’t work, so I had to call the owner in the middle of the night, which was stressful. I loved the house, but it was all Airbnb‑style self‑check‑in with no owners or staff present. The “breakfast” was just vouchers for a restaurant across the road. Overall it was nice, but it’s not really a bed and breakfast.
