“Ak máte možnosť určite odporúčam ubytovať sa niekde inde.”

The staff were completely chill. The place was filthy and the furniture was ruined. In the drawers we found a surprise left by previous guests. The pension seems to be in no shape. Through the air‑conditioning you could hear conversations (probably angry guests from the next room shouting). If you forget to pack your underwear you will definitely find some in the wardrobe.

Check‑in and checkout were fast. I booked a room with a double bed, but ended up with two single beds pushed together, and the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke despite us being non‑smokers – not sure if it came through the ventilation. When we arrived the room was cold, the radiators were turned down, and we only felt warmer after turning them up an hour later. Even though they knew we were coming, the radiators weren’t cleared or adjusted.

The peace and the city of Sala were nice. We didn’t like the entrance at all. Check‑in was truly Kafkaesque. The guards were gypsies with no ability to help. There’s a phone number. Call it. I’m Spanish and I don’t understand Slovak. Paying by card was another adventure.
