The location was fine. The building was very old, and the first impression was bad; I hoped the room wouldn’t look like the entrance, but it did. The exterior was dilapidated and the corridors were poorly maintained, with laundry bags piled up. Inside the room everything was old and tired: the bed quilt under the top cover was very old and dirty, the TVs were from the 90s, channel selection was ridiculous, there were no instructions for anything, door handles on interior doors were hanging off. For 250 pounds a night you expect a lot more; it felt more like an Airbnb with no love from the owner.

I paid 2000 HKD for one night at a place advertised as a 5‑star hotel, and it was far from what I expected. The pictures on the booking site showed a beautiful terrace with a jacuzzi and immaculate surroundings, but the reality was a far cry from that—no bath, no jacuzzi, no terrace. The common areas were messy and unkempt, and for a supposed 5‑star establishment I expected cleanliness and attention to detail, but instead I found a lack of maintenance that was quite off‑putting. The staff were inefficient and unavailable when needed; we asked for a room change because the isolation was terrible and the sounds of children running echoed through the halls, but the staff had left for the day at 6 PM, leaving us without assistance. In the room, the shower was inconsistent, fluctuating between scalding hot and freezing cold, which made for an uncomfortable bathing experience. Overall, I was deeply disappointed with my stay. This hotel did not live up to its 5‑star claims, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a quality experience. It felt like a poor representation of hospitality, and I regretted spending my money here.

There were dead flies on the edge of the bathtub and no shower gel was provided; when I called reception they told me I had to pay to buy it. After a back‑and‑forth, they finally gave me a single travel‑size bottle of shower gel.
