“Nice, isolated hotel with small beach area.”
Most of the staff were outstanding – very friendly, helpful, eager to serve. The food was good, a bit pricey by Colombian standards but understandable given the hotel’s location. The cocktails were really quite good, and it’s easy to rack up a bar tab. The pool was nice and a key way to stay cool. The location is very isolated; getting there isn’t as simple as it could be. The boat service isn’t readily available. Driving is two hours from the airport and takes you through some of the more depressing and chaotic parts of Cartagena. Once you arrive, there’s no alternative for entertainment or dining – you’re stuck in the hotel. It’s nice, sure, but you have to be ready to disconnect and see the same menu at every meal.
