La Sultana Luxury Camp

The hosts were incredibly friendly and did their best to give everyone a nice night, and the food was amazing – the aubergine‑cheese tajine was the best tajine we’ve had on our vacation. However, some costs were not fully transparent: although the website says the transfer is included, the camel transfer to the camp costs €20 per person and the car transfer €30 per person; air‑conditioning costs €15 per night. It’s not a deal‑breaker, but it would have been better to know beforehand.

I had an amazing experience in the Sahara desert; the camel boy was very nice and the camp facilities were great. The 4x4 drive at checkout left an unforgettable memory.

“Wonderful quietness in magnificent desert and dunes”

The beauty of the place and the staff who always went out of their way to help were outstanding. They organized all excursions and adventures, and the evening drumming and singing was a highlight. Though not heavily advertised, the tent camp has access to hotels in Merzouga with swimming pools to escape the daytime heat. The air conditioning stops early in the morning.

“Bella esperienza ma una notte è sufficiente”

The property is lovely, with a roomy, spotless bedroom that also offers a breathtaking view. The dinner was awful and even varied from table to table, and the transfer pricing was opaque – a 15‑minute ride cost €45 per person each way, totalling €90 for two, which is wildly overpriced, while the other activities were almost twice as expensive as comparable options elsewhere.
