“If you don’t need a swimming pool or an in-house (over-priced) restaurant, then this is the best value spot to stay on t”

The spot was fantastic—great location, friendly staff, a large, quiet, and comfortable room (we paid a bit extra for the ocean view) with a superb bathroom, huge bed, work desk, and balcony overlooking the point. Breakfast was good and flexible with timing, the water was hot (better in the afternoon than in the morning), the Wi‑Fi was reliable, and we could use the kitchen to make hot drinks and prepare lunch and dinner. They also had surfboard and wetsuit racks in the courtyard. The downside was that staff weren’t always on site, and the front door lock was a bit tricky; we got locked out for a while one evening and had to wait for another guest’s help to get back in.

From the moment I arrived at Family Surf Chicama, I felt incredibly comfortable. I want to highlight the friendliness and service of the entire team. They welcomed me with great affection, and throughout my stay everyone was super kind, attentive, and always ready to help. Communication was also excellent. Junior at reception, for example, recommended several restaurants and his suggestions were truly good. My room was very spacious, comfortable, and had plenty of storage. It also had a balcony with amazing sea views—simply epic! Everything seemed brand new; there were still protective plastics on the TV and some handles, so it was clear the rooms were newly furnished. For me, coming to Chicama to do foil, having ample space to store and dry all my gear overnight was essential, and this place had plenty. There was also an outdoor shower, which was super practical after water activities, letting you rinse off salt before entering the hotel. It’s clear the accommodation is designed for surfers and water sports enthusiasts. Breakfast was also great. Each morning it was freshly prepared, and they asked how I wanted my eggs. One of my favorite touches was the fresh fruit juices and smoothies; each morning a different fruit, and I was curious to see what flavor they’d surprise me with that day. I could also use the kitchen to cook something myself if I wanted. The location was perfect—the hotel is at the end of town, a very quiet area with beautiful sea views. Throughout my stay I felt very comfortable and welcomed.

The location was amazing and the staff, especially Junior, were very helpful. The only downside was that it was close to the wave but a bit farther from restaurants and shops.
