“A lovely boutique, small hotel with a good breakfast.”

We appreciated that the place was a small, historic property and spotless, and we liked being able to use the pool at the neighboring Pestana hotels; however, the proximity to the road meant we could hear traffic from the small pool.

“Esperienza da rifare.”

The garden in front of the room with armchairs and a table was pleasant, the gardens were well maintained, and there were plenty of tidy spaces inside the property; the parking spot in the garage was highly valued, otherwise parking near the hotel is nearly impossible; the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast, though, should be improved for a 4‑star hotel: keep the bread and brioche warm, offer more exotic local fruit like those on market stalls, and let customers freely access coffee and cappuccino given the automatic machine.

“Lovely hotel near Funchal”

The support staff were great, especially the Indian gentleman who helped with our bags, and there was nothing negative.

The location, building, and hygiene were good, but the hotel was a fair distance from the car and the route was unclear; there were few options for drinks or snacks inside the building.
