A private balcony and a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and kitchenware are part of the Queen Room with Balcony and kitchen. We always choose this place whenever we visit Santa Cruz, and our June stay was no exception—kids adored the pool and the boardwalk was practically next door. The only downside was the price: we booked a month ahead, thinking we’d lock in the best deal, yet while we were there we saw the same rooms listed for almost half what we paid. We spent about $600 for two nights in a poolside room, and the current rate would have let us stay in a beach‑view room for roughly the same amount or less. Rates do change with demand, but it was still annoying that early booking cost us considerably more. I wish the hotel offered a price‑adjustment, credit, or some consideration for guests who book early and then see rates drop dramatically.

The view was beautiful and the ocean sounds were soothing. Being so close to the beach and the Boardwalk was great, and the pool and jacuzzi were excellent. I can’t think of anything to add.

We also enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub, and parking was available for a fee. I’m not entirely convinced that the $400 nightly price plus parking was fully worth it, but the location was indeed amazing.
