“Ein Traumhafter Rückzugsort – Perfekt für Naturliebhaber und Ruhesuchende!”
The stay at this 500‑year‑old family property was truly remarkable. Set on a 40‑hectare estate, it feels like a hidden sanctuary that sticks with you. From the moment we entered, the house made us feel at home. The bedroom featured a cozy king‑size bed, a mosquito net, and a bunk bed, plus a small wardrobe, a clothes rack, a fan, and an air‑conditioner. Free Wi‑Fi was included in the price. The bathroom, charmingly rustic with brick walls and a rain shower, was another highlight; a water heater kept the shower and sink warm, and the water pressure, typical for the area, was a bit low but adequate. Complimentary toiletries—brushes, toothpaste, hand soap, shower gel—were provided, and a brand‑new washing machine was installed in the bathroom during our stay. The outdoor kitchen was fantastic, fully equipped with a vegetable peeler and a pasta strainer (both handy for Sri Lankan cooking). The grill area, complete with a cooking station, grill grate, and sink, was perfect for relaxed afternoons, and dried palm fronds and fire starters were on hand. Kitchen and bathroom cleaning supplies, broom, mop, and squeegee were available, so mornings could be swept clean quickly. The veranda evoked a genuine farm feel—if you let your imagination run, it felt more like Texas than Sri Lanka. A lounge chair, a small table, and two chairs invited you to sip tea and read while watching the lush greenery.
