The entire staff welcomed us warmly, and walking barefoot on the sandy paths was a zen experience. The calm, the staff’s kindness and smiles, the night at the Ankatera cabin, tasting rums, and the beauty of the various sites—lodge, Coco Bay, the plantation, and the incredible view from Ankatera cabin—were all unforgettable. The only downside was leaving the Bora Princess.

The proximity to the beach and to the nattes was a plus. The only drawback was that the whales arrived too late to see.

The spot is spot on—just a short walk from the airport and right on the beach. The menu had a nice spread, even a salad, though I really wanted more of that. The staff were sweet and attentive. I booked a massage at the spa and it was fantastic. There’s a dive centre on the property, which is a bonus if that’s your thing. The downside: our villa sat in the back row, so it was a bit stuffy and I felt there could have been a few more mosquitoes.

The location is great, even when the weather isn’t ideal. The price is a bit high.
