We liked everything. Nolhivaranfaru Island is far from Malé, so you have to take a domestic flight, but the host will arrange that and also transport you by boat to the airport. The guesthouse is a few meters from the beach. The beach itself isn’t “bikini,” but about 300 m down the shore there is a “bikini beach” with wooden loungers and shade. The island is fairly large and you can see Maldivian life while walking around. The rooms are spacious, air‑conditioned, cleaned daily, and come with towels and beach towels. The whole area is beautifully maintained and full of greenery. The food was fantastic. For breakfast you can choose from several egg options, toast, or pancakes, fruit, juice, tea, coffee, and milk. Lunches and dinners are buffet‑style with about five to six dishes, usually a mix of Italian and Maldivian cuisine, all in plenty of quantity. I probably haven’t had such well‑prepared fresh seafood before. There’s always fruit or dessert at the end. The guesthouse has a great family atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and relaxed. There’s also a diving centre that lets you go on boat trips to amazing spots nearby, even if you’re not a diver. We snorkeled over live coral reefs, saw manta rays, turtles, dolphins, moray eels, and a lot of beautiful fish and corals.
