“Great place to stay for a local wedding”

The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection and quality, and it was well presented. The bath in the middle of the bedroom felt a bit intrusive.

“Excellent stay to enhance our trip to Bolton Abbey.”

A stone‑built, old‑world hotel in a quiet village, the bar buzzed and the staff were attentive; a young lady guided us to our room and carried our bags, a thoughtful gesture after a long day. Nothing negative to mention.

“Nice place for a drink as the staff were super nice but room very tired and food very average at best.”

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the outdoor area was nice for a drink in the sunshine, but the room felt tired and in need of renovation, and the food wasn’t great in our opinion.

Large room with very comfortable bed. Shower was very good. Cleanliness was adequate. Reasonably well sound insulated and the temperature was constant and pretty much ideal. Breakfast was ok, but could have been much improved by having more choice/variety. Hot choices were good, though no brown or wholemeal bread/toast options. No yoghurt or croissants etc,,, only multi packs of mini Kellogs cereals and limited fruit. Coffee was very average. Tea was good. The room was good as described above, but very limited storage space for clothes despite the large size of the room. Evening menu was good, but limited in terms of pasta options and no salad options
