“Trop moyen. Déconseillé pour femme seule.”

The price was low and the room was simple with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities—quite adequate. It was close to the metro. However, the listing title and photo were completely misleading; the exterior looked poorly maintained and it was nowhere near a city centre, but in a deserted street of detached houses (see attached photos). There were no shops on site. For a single woman returning at night, that felt a bit stressful. Inside, sound insulation was poor and the lights were impossible to block out.

“A gâcher mon séjour”

When I left, I didn’t take photos but I should have; the house looked gloomy, only one façade had been repainted as shown in the listing photo, and I wasn’t aware I was renting just one room—something that could have been clarified. The walls were cardboard, and I could hear people urinating.
