The only thing that caught my eye was how disgusting it was—below even Indonesia's dodgy standard, a decaying pig stable. I couldn't understand how anyone could keep such a garbage, dirty, and rotten place; it disrespected both guests and the owners. I had to mop my hands after touching the curtains, which were dusty and greasy. Throw away all the bathroom equipment, the floor, the walls, and probably the whole building. It's not poverty, it's piglity. Even though I'm used to staying in crappy places, I wanted to close my eyes and sleep standing like a horse in my shoes and clothes. If Bukittingi had better alternatives, I would have moved immediately, but all budget places there are disgusting, from what I saw and other feedback. Such a beautiful destination and yet everything is so dodgy. The only bright spot was the Wi‑Fi view from the roof.

It was a scam; we had already booked, but when we arrived the room was already full, and the staff was rude when we showed our booking number.
