The food and stay were comfortable and enjoyable, but there was no toothbrush or toothpaste provided, and the body wash was empty and not even refilled.

After Hilton took over, the place feels fresh and new. It’s farther from Kota Kinabalu, so you’ll need transport to get around and find food. There’s an on‑site restaurant, but the menu is limited, and the resort’s size means you’ll need buggy services to get around. The downside is that the service is quite slow, probably because it’s still new, and we had a problem with the front office regarding the rooms we checked into later that night.

We had a good time with the kids at the pool and beach, and the complimentary sunset cruise was a nice touch. However, the buffet dinner was disappointing – we arrived at 8 pm and most of the food was already gone, and it took a while for water to be refilled, so we were essentially waiting for the service. Perhaps they are short on staff at the food stations.

The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and there were no issues at all.
